This is the tutorial for making a paper crane. Below are the pictures and text tutorials.
Tip: The thinner the paper the easier to fold.
Step 1: Start off with a paper square then fold it diagonally once and unfold then repeat on the opposite side to create an X shaped crease on the square. Now, flip over the paper and fold it in half horizontaly then unfold and fold it in half again verticaly.
Step 2: Grip both corners of the folded in half sheet by the top and put one of your fingers inbetween each layer so it is easier to fold and push them towards each other so it folds itself into a diamond shape like the picture shows.
Step 3: What you're gonna do now is fold the top layer of paper into making a kite shape so you can still the the bottom half of the paper square beneath, don't unfold it and flip it over and repeat this step so it just looks like a kite with no excess paper sticking out from under it.
Step 4: Now, you need to open the top flap then put a finger on the other layers to keep it in place and lift up as high as if can go without ripping it. then, you have to press in both sides so it creates a diamond shape. Do NOT unfold it. Then flip it over and repeat so it's all one big diamond.
Step 5: You're gonna fold both top flaps into the center. Simillar to earlier with the kite fold. Now you're gonna fold both of the models "legs" up and make sure you crease them well then proceed with unfloding them.
Step 6: Do an inside reverse fold with the "legs" along the creases you just made. Then finally, you are going to do an inside reverse fold on one side to create the head and fold down the wings. You can even bring the tail out more to make it look better if wished. Now you are finally done. I hope this was helpful and that you succeeded.
